Cooking the perfect Apple Pie

What you’ll be needing:

  • Butter – 200 gram.
  • Sugar – 1 cup.
  • Flour – 1.5 cup.
  • Egg Yolk – 3 pieces.
  • Lemon/lime/orange peel.
  • Baking powder  – 1 tsp.
  • Salt – 1 pinch.    

For Filling:

  • Apples (sweet and sour kind) – 3 medium pieces.
  • Sugar – 4 tbsp.
  • Cinnamon – 0.5 tsp.
  • Dry bread crumbs – 2 tbsp.
  • Lime/Lemon/Orange juice – 2 tbsp.

For Filling:

  • Egg Whites – 3 pieces.
  • Sugar – 0.5 cup.
  • Salt  – 1 pinch.

  • Calories: 260 kcal
  • Proteins: 3 gram
  • Carbohydrates: 31.7 gram
  • Fats: 13 gram 

  

 How we will be cooking this:

  • In a big bowl; mix butter with sugar, salt, baking powder and egg yolks and lemon/lime/orange peel. After that, start adding flour little bit by little and keep them mixing with your hands. Our dough should become really homogeneous. After that we take a little bit (1/5th) of dough and put it in the fridge.
  • Thoroughly wash and peel apples. Cut the apples into 4 pieces, remove apple core and cut every piece into thin slices. Add sugar, cinnamon, breadcrumbs and lemon/lime/orange juice and leave it aside.
  • Take a deep bowl and pour the egg whites with sugar and salt. Mix it with a mixer for more than 15 minutes until Bizet is thick and white.
  • Take a form (a vessel) for baking and cover its bottom with foil or baking paper. Roll out the dough and gently put in the form. Make sure it covers bottom and sides of baking form and bottom part is thicker than sides. Put apples in the middle and on the top our Bizet.
  • Take out piece of dough from the fridge and either gather over the pie or make small dough balls. Bake for about 45-50 minutes at 180 C.
